About me

I’m a stay-at-home mom and aspired author based in Madison, Wisconsin.

I’ve lived throughout the Great Lakes region: childhood in Michigan, college at Notre Dame in Indiana, and currently in Wisconsin.

My stories are about relatable, grown-up, badass women who get swept up in an undercurrent of magic, secret worlds they never knew existed. Oh, and there are some spicy bits too.

My other great aspiration is to become famous enough to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Still working on that.

Q&A

Um, what’s ROTA?

ROTA is my current work in progress, a romantasy novel: Ring of the Axe. In it, our heroine Chelsea finds herself intractably pulled to Vaux, who always seems to be there when Chelsea falls into the Faerie Realm.

Is ROTA a series?

No, Ring of the Axe is a standalone novel. But…I have a larger ROTAverse growing in my imagination. So the future might bring an anthology, with other real-world women getting entangled with the magic hidden around them. Maybe they occasionally cross paths. Maybe they even save the world together. We’ll see.

Can I read the first draft?

No. But friends can read some teaser chapters that I’ve posted here.

What does one do after they draft a novel?

Well, this is my first time down this path, but here’s what I think I’ll do. I’ll revise it. Revise it again. Find plot holes. Revise some more. Realize that I forgot about a key character or item or detail. Revise revise revise. Eventually find some beta readers and get them to read it. Revise some more.

When it’s as good as I can get it, then I can think about publishing. That means either looking for an agent to represent me to traditional publishers, or self-publishing the book including promoting and marketing it to future readers.

Can I be a beta reader?

Sure! Send me a note and I’ll add you to my list of interested readers. When the time comes (probably in 2025?) I’ll get in touch to see if you still have time to read and respond to the book.
